Bernard (Bernie) W. Chang, M.D., Director of Baltimore’s Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Mercy, also leads The Breast Reconstruction and Restoration Center at Mercy. Dr. Bernie Chang is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery and General Surgery. He pioneered and advanced surgical treatment options like DIEP flap surgery for breast reconstruction. Dr. Aldona Spiegel certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She completed her medical training at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine. Spiegel completed a residency in general surgery and plastic surgery at John Hopkins Hospital. She also completed a residency in plastic surgery and a fellowship in microsurgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Spiegel's clinical focus is microsurgery, breast reconstruction, breast sensation and specialized perforator flaps (DIEP, SIEA, SGAP flaps). Her clinical expertise allows her to focus on research in innovative surgical techniques, such as muscle-preserving flaps.

Dr. Howard received a doctor of medicine from Emory University School of Medicine in 1997. He completed a residency at MedStar Health/Georgetown University in 2003 and a fellowship in breast reconstruction and microsurgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2004. He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He primarily focuses on breast reconstruction surgery.

, is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon and cosmetic dermatologist. She specializes in skin cancer and reconstructive surgery of the face and body and aesthetic treatments such as injectables, laser procedures, platelet-rich plasma for hair loss and skin rejuvenation, and hair transplants among others.
Kannan believes in optimizing both surgical and aesthetic outcomes by integrating the highest standards of beauty with evidence-based science. She approaches patients as a whole when customizing a treatment plan to address their skin concerns.
As an associate professor of dermatology at University of California School of Medicine, she is involved in the training of medical students and residents. She has also taught fellow surgeons and has lectured at national conferences.
Kannan completed her fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and cosmetic dermatology at UC San Diego School of Medicine and completed her dermatology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. She is also board certified in micrographic dermatologic surgery.
She is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology, a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
